
Our goal is a secure family life for every child
Voluntas was established and registered in the UK and Belarus in 2002. Our focus is on:
- Supporting families at risk
- Family mentoring
- Family mediation
- Early intervention for children with profound multiple learning disabilities
- Prevention of institutionalisation of disabled children and social orphans
- Deinstitutionalisation of social orphans
- Deinstitutionalisation and transition support for young adults leaving care
- Providing expertise to governments for child protection and family support policies
- Outreach to the rural disabled
- Assistance to rural hospitals
- Training of parents, carers, medical professionals and educators
- Provision of training internationally
We have five employees and more than 100 volunteers. Our staff and advisors from Belarus and abroad, includes educators, psychologists, psychiatrists and social workers.
We work closely the Ministries of Health, Education and Labour and Social Protection. We are Also advisors to UNICEF regarding child protection, closure of orphanages and related issues. We receive support from private donors, foundations, international government organisations and Minsk based embassies. We are active across Belarus and work intensively, local government and civic organisations.
