Helping People to Help Themselves

Our mission is to provide tools and training to professionals and grassroots stakeholders to empower the disadvantaged and the differently-abled. We do this by enlisting interested groups: care providers, parents and the challenged to learn methodologies to deal with their issues and advocate for the resources they need. We achieve results through training, advocacy and the creation of grassroots nodes of civic activism. We establish training and rehabilitation centres across regions. Over the next 5 years we intend to have regional training and resource centres through East Europe.

Voluntas was established in 2002 to 1) prevent the institutionalisation of children from families in difficulty and children with behavioral challenges and 2) to return children in institutions to their families.

Voluntas believes in the right of every child to have the opportunity, regardless of the conditions of his or her life, to realise his or her full potential. We work with children whose lives have been limited by disability and poor family environment. Voluntas’ efforts prevent institutionalisation of disadvantaged and differently abled-children. This is achieved by providing tools and training to professionals and families to empower the disadvantaged and challenged. Through this approach we have established training and rehabilitation centres across regions, closed orphanages and prevented literally thousands of children from being sent into care.

Voluntas believes that Every Family Deserves to Succeed
